Tip$ For Your In$urance

We are going to try to make this a regular topic on this side of our newsletter. One of the priorities of R. Kashmiry and Associates is to help you get your money’s worth out of your insurance.

This is a dollar-saving tip that Ray compares to buying a loaf of bread. REALLY! You are going to pay much more for the bread if you go to the first place, say a convenience store, instead of taking the time to go to a grocery store. Same thing with your doctors’ and lab bills. The fees are less if you take the time to be sure you are staying in your carrier’s network of providers. Those lists of names are on their websites. If you are not sure, please do not hesitate to call us, R. Kashmiry and Associates, at 1.877.860.6295.

The WIN-WIN of a New Benefit Offer
R. Kashmiry and Associates, Inc. is launching a cost-effective supplemental insurance program through Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company that carries advantages for both employers and employees.

Under the “Voluntary Worksite Program” -- employees may apply for Accident Insurance, Disability Insurance, Hospital Confinement Indemnity Insurance, Cancer Insurance and/or Critical Illness Insurance at NO DIRECT COST to your company. Employers can RECEIVE tax savings and PROVIDE tax savings for their workers by pre-taxing qualified premiums with the convenience of payroll deduction. Employees can select and pay for only the extra protection they feel they need most.

Another key program advantage for employers is FREE access to the “HRAnswersNow” Website. The annual subscription fee for that site starts at $399. “HRAnswersNow” offers businesses valuable information regarding human resource policies and guidelines – as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

It is a Win-Win for employers and employees! R. Kashmiry and Associates at 1.877.860.6295 will be happy to provide more details about the “Voluntary Worksite Program” at your convenience.

Recall Roundup
Product recalls send us rushing to our cupboards to check brands, lot numbers, and/or dates. The media well-publicizes some – pet food, peanut butter, packaged salads, etc. But how do you find out about others?

We found two good resources that literally cover recalls from A to Z. On www.ConsumerReports.org -- you can find details on appliances to OTC and prescription drugs to exercise and medical equipment to food. Another helpful resource is www.recalls.gov for products taken off the market by the federal government. Once again there is a wide range of items to check.

The National Politics of Health Care
Healthcare is already a critical issue in the 2008 presidential campaign. The early candidates are talking about promoting wellness as a way to avoid the high costs of treating heart disease, cancers and other illnesses. That is a change from previous campaigns when the candidates focused mostly on finding coverage for the 47-million uninsured Americans.

Thanks!
We hope we offered a few helpful tidbits today. Our goal is to say what we mean -- and mean what we say.
