BananasGo Bananas!!!
Who knew bananas could improve your mental, physical and emotional health? Here are some of the ways a banana can help you and your family.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood, and generally make you feel happier.
Smoking & Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

New Law Requires Section 125 Plans & Changes to Market Rules
LawGovernor Strickland recently signed the 2010-2011 budget into law that requires employers to offer Section 125 plans, increases the dependent age for health insurance coverage and changes the rules for Ohio’s HIPAA high risk mechanism.
Employers with 10 or more employees will be required to offer Section 125 plans to their employees to allow them to pay health insurance premiums with pretax dollars. Insurers will be required to offer dependent coverage up to the age of 28. The language does not require employers to offer dependent coverage, nor pay any portion of the premium for dependent coverage.
The budget bill also makes changes to Ohio’s high risk mechanism by increasing the enrollment cap to 16% of an insurer’s individual market enrollment and decreasing the premium differential to 1.5 times the base rate for individual market coverage.

The flu is in season every year…..It’s a health threat to millions
FluThe flu season is long and dangerous. It usually begins in December and goes through February and sometimes even March. That’s why it’s a good idea to get in touch with your doctor or health care professional and see if you’re at special risk.

Know the common symptoms of the flu:

    • fever (usually high)
    • headache
    • extreme tiredness
    • dry cough
    • sore throat
    • runny or stuffy nose
    • muscle aches

Spreading the word about the flu
As we age, our body’s ability to fight the flu virus decreases. About 50% of elderly people who come down with the flu will develop respiratory infections. People who have weakened immune systems or have emphysema, a disease of the lungs, are more likely to get respiratory infections.

Talk to your doctor or health care professional to get the facts about the flu.
